Porthleven is the perfect place to visit in October half term. Days can be blissfully calm and perfect for the beach or you could find yourself watching a fierce storm roll in across the Atlantic Ocean. Whatever the weather, there is plenty to do to keep everyone occupied. Enjoy pumpkin carving, frightful Halloween experiences and apple days!

Here is a pick of our favourite half term fun:

National Trust

Entertain the kids with plenty of activities at our local National Trust properties. Enjoy a wholesome day out exploring the outdoors, get involved in pumpkin carving and collecting apples for the apple press.

Godolphin House National Trust – Find out about the apple harvest, take a walk on the barefoot trail and enjoy apple themed games.

Trengwainton National Trust – Play autumn colour spotting and see how many you can tick off, collect fallen apples or guess the weight of the pumpkin. Treat yourself to some Trengwainton-grown apples and squash (while stocks last), a warming soup or hot chocolate in the café or something special from the shop.

Trelissick Gardens – A wonderful place to visit any time of year! Explore the house and gardens and take a walk down to the Fal River banks before heading to the café for delicious lunch.

Enjoy Trick or Treat Week at Flambards with lots of activities on offer. Buy a ticket and return as many times as you like for 7 days. 25th October is the annual fireworks display.
