Most would agree, Porthleven provides an idyllic location for a holiday with its beautiful coastline and stunning Atlantic sea views. It also has many fantastic restaurants and is building an enviable reputation as a foodie destination. The annual Porthleven Food and Music Festival is now in its ninth year and enhances Porthleven’s reputation.

Porthleven offers everything from quirky pubs to fine dining restaurants and family friendly eateries, so there is something special for everyone.

Here are our best to try:

Rick Stein’s Fish Restaurant

All the fine dining experience you would expect with lovely views over the harbour. The menu is inspired by Rick’s Asian travels and includes a kids menu.

Kota Restaurant

Porthleven at its finest! Created by Jude Kereama, who recently appeared on the Great British Menu and his wife Jane. You can expect exquisite food in a lovely atmosphere in a contemporary setting. Kota Restaurant has recently had the Award for Creativity and Innovation by the Trencherman’s Guide 2016, recognised by the Good Food Guide, the Michelin Guide (with two Bib Gourmand Awards), Harden’s Restaurant Guide, Square Meal and the AA (with two Rosettes).

Kota Kai

Taking up the whole of the first floor of Celtic House, situated looking directly onto the harbour, this restaurant offers modern Asian cuisine and delicious cocktails. The lounge is perfect for a coffee with a view and the kids’ rooms is well equipped for entertaining. The food is delicious, uncomplicated and the service is excellent.

The Square

The Square is a great place to while away the afternoon on the terrace in the sunshine or to enjoy an evening with views of the twinkling harbour lights. The brasserie menu changes daily with an emphasis on local sourcing.

Seadrift Cafe

If you love fish you will love Seadrift. Chef and owner Chris produces dishes using the freshest produce sourced locally. Chris and his team have created a cosy, welcoming restaurant perfect for lunch or an evening meal.

Ship Inn, Porthleven

A beautiful 17th Century pub overlooking the Porthleven harbour. The perfect place to watch calm seas and sunshine over the harbour in summer and enjoy storm watching in the winter. Delicious traditional pub food and great beer!

Nauti-but-Ice

Coffee, cake, ice-cream and delicious lunches with a view over the harbour. The perfect place to relax after a cliff path walk or returning from the beach. The terrace is busy in summer and mind winter days too.

Book your stay in one of our cottages and enjoy these fabulous eateries.
