Summer feels like it’s been here for some time already but there is still much more to come! We’ve put together a list of delightful events to attend and inspiring locations to visit on our summer 2018 hit list.

Festivals and Music

Amelies, Porthleven

20th July

Amelies restaurant will host a series of evening entertainment and in July you can experience the band, Gwelhellin. A popular local trio who draw on their world-wide experiences on road and stage to create a blues, boogie-woodie, gypsy guitars and fabulous sounds, all with backdrop of the harbour of Porthleven.

Falmouth Week

10th-19th August

Falmouth Week has grown into the largest sailing regatta in the south west with more than 450 yachts racing over eight days along with a lively programme of shoreside events. One of the highlights is RAF Red Arrows which will perfrom over the seafront o Tuesday 14th August at 6.15pm.

Porthleven Maritime Weekend

17th – 19th August

A fun fundraiser weekend on the water in Porthleven starting on Friday night with a delicious Fishermans Association Fish BBQ. Saturday is Gig Day with races all day starting at 9.15am plus food and live music in the evening on the harbour head. Sunday is RNLI Lifeboat day when Penlee Lifeboat joins in with a display.

The Secret Gin Garden

17th August

Scorrier House, nr Redruth, is a beautiful setting for this one off event. The walled garden of one of Cornwall’s great houses will be the setting for live music, DJs, burlesque and fire dancing.

Minack Theatre

It is quite an experience watching theatre with the gorgeous cliffs, sea and sky as the backdrop. The Minack has something for everyone this summer. Squashbox Theatre is always popular with the kids and theatre lovers can enjoy productions performed by Miracle Theatre, Global Theatre Company, Herefordshire Players and many more.

Trebah Theatre

Trebah Gardens is another popular outdoor family theatre at the tree-lined Amphitheatre.  Supported by Hall for Cornwall, there is a plethora of fabulous theatre for all ages this summer.

Penlee Park Open Air Theatre

The theatre in the park in the heart of Penzance. A unique outdoor theatre space that has celebrated Cornish, national and international performers since 1948.

Local Attractions

Eden Project

This summer the Eden Project presents ‘Invisible Worlds’. In addition to visiting the incredible biomes, you will find the exhibition inside the Core building. It introduces ‘the interconnectedness between life and the Earth’s environments at all scales..’ Definitely worth a day trip to Eden for!

National Maritime Museum, Falmouth

The NMM put on three exciting events to inspire the imagination. Titanic Stories is an exhibition with objects and insights never seen before the in the UK while the Treasure Island Playzone and Pirate School will spark the imagination of children over the school holidays. One tickets gets your entry for a year!

Paradise Park

A wonderful place to visit for all ages! This summer you can see the Freeflying Bird show and Penguin Feeding in addition to 140 species and over 650 birds.

St Michael’s Mount

Explore this ancient and mysterious place and enjoy one of the many summer events on the Mount. Story Telling, Rockpool Explorer, Busy Bees and Myths and Legends will keep the children entertained for hours.
