If you like a cosy pub, local produce, or are seeking out a breathtaking view for your next pub meal, South West Cornwall has an eatery to suit you. Many of our local pubs combine a hearty local welcome with fabulous, award winning food. We’ve done a fair amount of exploring and come up with our best here for you to enjoy on your holiday in Cornwall.

The Ship Inn, Porthleven

In the summer months, enjoy the sun on the terraced garden overlooking the harbour and in the winter cosy up and enjoy a pint while watching the storms outside. With beautiful views over to the clocktower in Porthleven this local pub serves traditional hearty main meals and sharing meals. Great food and atmosphere with many story told around the bar.


The Coastguards, Mousehole

With beautiful views over the garden to Mounts Bay. On a summer day you can sit out and enjoy the sunshine and sparkling sea. Food from Chef Matt Smith includes an array of delicious locally sourced seafood and cosy fires keep the atmosphere warm in the winter. Children welcome!  

The Mexico Inn, Long Rock nr Marazion

Beautifully renovated in early 2015, this traditional village pub in a beautiful location is warm and friendly welcoming all and those who love great food. Try the delicious Sunday Roast!

Halzephron Inn, Gunwalloe

Built 500 years ago and steeped in smuggler history, Halzephron has long been popular with visitors and locals. In a beautiful location near Gunwalloe, you will look out over the cliffs and Atlantic Ocean. Enjoy sitting outside on a warm summer day or inside in front of the traditional fires in an arm chair while a storm rages outside. But what sets this pub aside is exceptional food. Traditional dishes, freshly cooked to perfection!

Godolphin Arms, Marazion

Recently refurbished, Godolphin Arms now provides a modern and comfortable atmosphere taking full advantage of the view of St Michael’s Mount which is literally just outside the large windows and across the beach. Chef Nick Eyre sources ingredients from local producers.

Victoria Inn, Perranuthnoe

12th Century Cornish pub nestled in the pretty village of Perranuthnoe just minutes from the beach and coast path. Serving award-winning food, fine wines, local ales, ciders and Cornish larger.

The Shipwright, Helford

The pub is nestled in the centre of the Helford Village, on the Helford river. The menu is seasonal and includes lots of fresh local produce. Fish is brought in fresh from the sea and the menu changes daily. While away an afternoon or two in the summer on the decking overlooking the river.

Pandora Inn

Arrive on foot, boat or car to enjoy the delicious local and fresh menu. With so many awards under their belt you can expect a quality menu that changes regularly. The extensive menu has a list of all the local producers including meat, beer, wine and vegetables. The pontoon is a great place to eat and enjoy the atmosphere of the passing boats and views across the river.
