Five things to try with family this Easter

Easter holidays, for many, mark the start of Spring. Warm early Spring sunshine brightens up Cornwall’s beaches and longer days mark the end of Winter. There is a chance of an April shower or possibly time to get the suncream out!

Whatever the weather, there are plenty of activities for families spending time in Cornwall over Easter. Here are our five to try:

1. St Michael’s Mount

The folks at the National Trust are making a commitment to helping local bird and you can help too. They have arranged a lovely spring activity, making willow bird feeders and building your own nests with Great Scott Adventurers.

The workshop is free with your ticket and is for children and adults and runs on Easter weekend 2017 (Friday, Saturday and Sunday).

2. Falmouth Spring Festival

A festival to celebrate Falmouth’s beautiful open and green spaces. With guided walks and talks, garden spring clean events, Gardeners’ Question Time and a Spring Fair and Pain the Town Yellow Day!

A full programme of events around Falmouth from 30th March to 17th April. Find out more: www.falmouth.co.uk

3. Paradise Park Easter Egg Hunt

See your favourite animals and winged friends, and go on an Egg Hunt. Don’t miss the Eagles of Paradise Display. Then head to the JungleBarn for indoor soft play. A great day out!

4. Trebah gardens

Enjoy Spring at Trebah Gardens. Spring blooms will abound in this beautiful valley garden. Walk to down to the private beach for an ice-cream and head back for an afternoon of Easter Workshops.

5. Poldhu Cove

Take buckets and spades and something warm to wear and head to Poldhu Cove near Mullion. This sheltered, sandy beach is the perfect place to relax in the Spring sunshine. There are walks on the cliffs and the lovely Poldhu Beach Cafe serving light lunch and warming drinks. You could also visit the Marconi Centre on the cliff tops to find out about the first radio wave transmissions ever made.
