Specialises in organic local fish and farm produce and has rapidly become one of the most renowned restaurants in the South West.

Perfectly positioned on the Harbour Head, Kota is proud to be recognized by the Good Food Guide, the Michelin Guide, Harden’s Restaurant Guide and the AA (with one Rosette). Kota is also part of Cornish Accredited Restaurants and has been praised many times in both local and national editorials, including The Times and The Telegraph (Kota was named in the Top 50 Summer Restaurants in Britain in August 09, and voted 'The Big Eat' in the top 10 pan-Asian eateries July 2008.

Run by a leading London chef/manager team, Jude and Jane Kereama, Kota has an exciting daily-changing menu and impressive wine list. Kota is Maori for shellfish (Jude is half Maori, quarter Chinese, quarter Malaysian) and the restaurant is renowned for its stunning seafood with Jude's signature light Asian twist. Kota is open for lunch Fridays and Saturdays (12-2pm) and for dinner Monday to Saturday (from 5.30pm).

The Lugger restaurant offers diners a real taste of Cornwall, serving Cornish fare, locally sourced with exciting and interesting taste combinations. The menu is constantly changing to accommodate the daily catches and seasonal variations. The fish dishes have been created drawing on Chef Martin Brightwell’s travels and dining experiences.

The Cornish flavour does not stop at the food menu, but carries on into the drinks as well. With wine from Bosue Valley Wines, St Ewe, Beer from Sharps at Rock, coffee from Miles tea and coffee (the only roasters and blenders of tea and coffee in the West Country), even the mineral water is from Cornwall.


The Ship Inn

Located on the outer harbour, The Ship Inn is a quintessential Cornish pub, full of character and charm.

Built in the 18th century, the Ship is one of the oldest buildings in Porthleven and has a loyal local following.

Popular with many of the visitors to the area it offers excellent home cooked food and good real ales in a friendly atmosphere with lovely views of the harbour. Definitely worth a visit!

Latest addition to Porthleven's growing number of restaurants, Amelies is located on the quayside with lovely views of the harbour from the glass fronted doors. An informal cafe and bar by day and a relaxed and intimate atmosphere in the evenings. A large outdoor terrace with panoramic views is a lovely spot to have lunch, dinner or drinks.
Offering a variety of bistro style dishes including sea food specials and excellent wood-fired oven baked pizzas.

Open seven days a week in the summer, Amelies offer food from 12 noon right through to last orders at 9pm. At the weekends the breakfast menu is served from 9am – 11am.
