Spread over 100 acres, the Lost Gardens of Heligan is one of Cornwall’s ‘must see’ gardens. Once abandoned, the gardens have been lovely restored over the past 17 years by a dedicated team of experts and enthusiasts. Visitors can experience an impressive range of wild flora and fauna and many rare plant and tree species. The Wildlife Interpretation Centre provides an intimate view of the natural world through ‘live’ camera feeds displayed on indoor plasma screens.

City of Truro

The cathedral city of Truro is Cornwall’s principle shopping town and easily reached midway between the north and south coasts. The skyline is dominated by the 250 foot high towers and Victorian stained glass windows of the Gothic Cathedral in the city centre. There is a good selection of high street chain stores as well as many smaller individual shops offering local produce, arts and crafts.

The Eden Project consists of two enormous greenhouses overlooking St Austell Bay in Cornwall. Through plants, the dome promotes environmental awareness enabling visitors to understand ‘the vital relationship between plants, people and resources’. Visitors follow a path around the biomes, stopping to hear talks and sketches on the plants and learn about their uses from interactive displays.
