It’s the Porthleven Food and Music Festival on the 16th and 17th of April and with Porthleven Holiday Cottages being the main sponsor, we are all looking forward to the delights of fine local food and entertainment that the festival has to offer.

Trenance Chocolate, Mullion
Sourced from the finest Belgium chocolate has to offer and handmade in Mullion, Cornwall – you won’t be disappointed! The shop in Mullion is open from February to Christmas where you can actually watch the chocolates being made.
Handmade, small batches of chocolate bars from single estates in South America. Flavours have a delightful Cornish twist – try Cornish Honeycomb and Wild Gorse Flower.
Curio Spirit Company, Mullion
Curio produce handmade gin and vodka in Mullion. You can find yourself a bottle nearby at Gillian’s Larder in Helston. Try their Rock Samphire Gin, produced by using hand foraged rock samphire from the local cliff tops. You couldn’t get more local!
Cornish Seaweed, Falmouth
World renowned for its healing and health properties, seaweed has a wide variety of uses. This local company harvest from our shores and produce it in a way that makes it accessible to all. Their Organic Komby can be used as a base ingredient as stock, it’s soft and mild flavour when cooked make it an ideal addition to cooking rice. Or try the seaweed bath bag which helps to increase bloodflow and circulation. Find it in the Natural Store, Helston.
The Dukkah Company, Penzance
Dukkah is a traditional North African dish packed full of seeds, nuts & spices. After a trip to North Africa the founder of Dukkah decided to start making her own. Served with fresh bread, in salads and soups it is delicious. Find your flavour at one of these local stores.
Roskillys Ice-Cream, St Keverne
At trip to South West Cornwall would not be complete without a few scoops of Roskilly’s Ice-Cream. Delicious flavours are concocted on their farm in St Keverne on the Lizard. You can visit and get a look at the local farm animals and meet the organic dairy herd. Or get your favourite flavour at Nauti-But-Ice in Porthleven.
Lynher Dairies, Truro
The producers of Cornwall’s favourite cheese – Cornish Yarg has won many awards and is easily one of the most delicious that Cornwall has to offer. This nettle wrapped Cheese is locally made in Ponsonooth near Truro, after it was first made in Bodmin 30 years ago.
Vicky’s Bread, Helston
Locally produced in Helston and made from all natural ingredients. Pick up a loaf of delicious spelt, multigrain or cloudy white delivered daily to Porthleven supermarket (Costcutter).
Rebel Brewing Company, Penryn
A multi-award winning, independent Cornish brewing company produce real ales and full-bodied chocolate stout.
